ON DEMAND VIDEO LESSONS
On Demand & Personalised
Piano Ecademy's video lessons are the PERFECT solution for busy adults who want fun, personal, private piano lessons on their own schedule.
When it suits you
Busy Schedule? Not practised for a week? With video lessons this is not a problem. Book your lesson when YOU feel ready for the next step.
Personal & Personalised
We may not meet live, but that doesn't mean video lessons are impersonal! Each lesson is tailored to YOUR playing and unique progress.
What are "video exchange lessons"?
In a nutshell, in a video exchange lesson you send in a recording of your work, and your teacher will provide you with recorded feedback, practice tips, exercises and related materials. You will also receive new lesson materials and assignments to be completed for the next lesson.
Personalised feedback
Receive personal feedback, answers to your questions, as well as follow up exercises and practice tips based on your playing.
On your schedule
Stop feeling guilty for leading your best life! You don't have to have a lesson each week - you can ask for a lesson when YOU feel ready. Perfect for parents with small children, or busy professionals.
Lesson Plan
Each lesson will come with next steps to ensure you progress your musical skills . We may look at a new piece of music, we may explore a new theory concept, or I assign creative, musical exercises. Your lesson plan will be tailored to your goals!
Deep learning
After booking the lesson, you have 30 days of access to your lesson. The means you have ample opportunity to review your lesson. Watch your teaching videos multiple times, and really deeply absorb the learning!

Features you'll love
Modern Way of Learning
Self-paced, asynchronous learning is an awesome way to learn a new skill. By combining it with a 1:1 video exchange, you end up with a super convenient, personalised and motivating lesson format that works amazingly well for busy adults.
All Materials in One Spot
All your lesson materials - whether they be videos, text, PDFs or quizzes - will be communicated via a private, dedicated weblink.
Feedback & Step by Step Instructions
You DON'T have to create perfect performances for your teacher. Just like in a live lesson, your videos should record your struggles and your triumphs! That way, I can offer help with your unique trouble spots.
So... what's the process like?
Start by recording your playing, and submitting it together with any other assignments via our dedicated form. Then, go ahead and book some time in my calendar for me to prepare your lesson. You pay your invoice and will receive your lesson within 48 hours of the booked time.
Review your lesson as many times as you want for the next 30 days! When you're ready for the next lesson, repeat these steps.
EASY!

About Your Teacher
Hello! I'm Barbara.
I've been teaching adults online since 2018 and I LOVE being a professional piano teacher. Nothing brings me more joy than to watch my students go from strength to strength and play their favourite music.
I have a very busy online studio with students from California to Ireland to Sydney. And while most of my students take live lessons, my video lessons are a new offering since 2023 to provide the same quality instruction to students who are just a little too busy for regular live lessons. It offers a wonderful alternative learning method that allows you to study with me even if I don't have a timeslot available at a time that suits you.
If you'd like to chat about this option, get in touch today!
Musical regards, Barbara

Upon signing up for video lessons, you'll be provided with instructions on how to create your lesson book request. This includes a link to my booking calendar. You will find open booking slots up to 4 weeks in advance. Your booking will secure time in my teaching calendar for me to create your lesson, so make sure you book as soon as you're ready for your next lesson. I recommend planning ahead and setting yourself a goal to complete your lesson by a certain date, then record and book your next lesson in the next available time slot. Timeslots are offered on a first come, first serve basis.
Yes! In fact, before you can sign up for video lessons, I schedule a 30-minute meet and greet with you so we can have a chat about your goals, your dreams and so I can go over any important info with you that you'll need to know before starting your video lessons. This 30-minute Zoom chat is completely obligation free, but it gives you a chance to meet with me and ask my any questions you may have.
There are limits to how often you can schedule a lesson. Because I'm a real life teacher with limited time, I limit the amount of student I take on (for both live lessons AND video lessons), plus I limit video lesson requests to 3 bookings per month per student. At the same time, I also set a minimum of 1 lesson per 2 months - that's to make sure students don't sign up for video lessons, only to take up space in the studio and never commit to practicing or progressing.
Yep, that's usually possible, though my live Zoom lesson slots are very limited and I'm usually fully booked. Having said that, if you'd like to be considered for a live slot, please let me know - and I'll prioritise you in the wait list. Similarly, if your circumstances change and you'd prefer to revert back to video lessons that's not typically an issue. Please note that I do not offer a hybrid version of the two options: you can not combine live lesson with video lessons. Unfortunately, I cannot make that work in my schedule.
